Some common reasons for deletion of data from your G-drive are:

Mac os 10.14 system requirements
  • Improper Ejecting of G-drive hard drive:
  • When you connect your hard disk, the G-drive might not get recognized in Mac. It might be because of a faulty USB cable for transferring data or without using safely remove option to eject the G-drive hard disk. The data loss in this case comes in the form of an inaccessible G-drive whenever a different connector cable is used.

  • Interruptions in File Transfer:
  • When data transfer on a G-drive SSD or hard disk is interrupted due to low storage space availability on the hard drive, it might damage the files or file leading to data loss due to inaccessibility.

  • Accidental deletion of file:

When you delete a file on your computer, it will end up in trash or recycle bin by default. However, in case of an external hard drive the deleted data will not be reflected in Recycle Bin or Trash. The data will be permanently lost and cannot be restored.

Other probable reasons for data loss in G-drive hard drives:

  • Corrupted folder in G-drive external hard disk
  • Virus attack in G-drive SSD or hard drives
  • Unexpected system restart or shutdown while transferring data from hard drive to Mac PC
