According to Wardle, a Mac user could potentially be infected just by opening a Microsoft Office file that has a bad macro in it.

Was your computer infected with ransomware?
If so then the hackers likely had full root access to your system and could have taken any of your files. If you are just an average person then they are unlikely to have bothered – they just wanted to cause you inconvenience so you would pay them bitcoin to decrypt the files.
If you took it into an Apple rep they most certainly did NOT decrypt the files – they most likely restored older files from your backup.
The keychain issue may be that when they rebuilt your PC they logged onto an old apple account that had the passwords from your work. Should not be an issue as any sane business would be changing those passwords every 3 or 4 months anyway.

Microsoft intellipoint mac. If you say you have all the logs and how it was executed, can you provide a name of the ransomware? Some file names for payload? Paths in the file system that were infected?
